Vintage feather hat from New York milliner Jack McConnell likely dates to the 1960's. It is made of iridescent green feathers that completely cover a black wool base. Remnants of the red feather on the back side of the tag identify this hat as being from Mr. McConnell's most exclusive line.
Lovely Edwardian hat from "Coret" in San Francisco. It is made out of gathered forest green jersey, lined, has an interior grosgrain band, and trimmed with black feathers. It is in good condition considering its age with fading, some very small holes, broken feathers, and a few stains.
Boudoir cap made out of ivory netting with extremely detailed embroidery in silver and gold metallic threads. Lace trim. Gathered back. Ivory-colored satin ribbon ties at the nape of the neck. Unlined.
Manuel Pertegaz 1960's hat is made of tightly woven, golden beige straw. Interior velvet band. Hand-written numbered tag sewn on the inside.
Condition: Very good with a small red mark on side (see photo) and some slight discoloration on back.

Manuel Pertegaz is a Spanish-born designer who opened his own fashion house in the early 1940's. His designs (along with those of Jeanne Lanvin and Cristóbal Balenciaga, among others) were recently featured as a part of the exhibition, ÒBarcelona Haute CoutureÓ at The Palau Robert in Barcelona, Spain. One of his hats is owned by The Costume Collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. More recently (in 2004), he designed the wedding dress for of Letizia, Princess of Asturias.

Vintage hat from Jack McConnell dates to an unknown era during the latter 20th Century. It is made of beige woven straw that has a wide band of white flowers that extend from the hat, some of which are adorned with rhinestones.
