This gorgeous piece of 20th Century ethnic dress is made out of heavy black boiled or felted wool with red braided trim and orange soutache detailing. It is sleeveless, has no closures, and soutache “tassels" at the back waist. It is unlined except for a 4" panel on the interior sides of the center front that is lined with bright red felt with a blue and white floral print. I am not sure of the origin or age of this piece. Originally I thought that it was Middle Eastern, but a more advanced collector informed me that it was actually from Eastern Europe. Unfortunately, I cannot say which one it is definitively, but I am still looking for documentation. Either way, this is a beautiful piece of outerwear with a striking color combo and clean shape.
Condition: Excellent with one extremely small moth hole on the back approximately 8" up from the hem. All garments are cleaned and ready to wear unless otherwise noted.
