Vintage coat dates to the 1920's and is made of black velvet with ivory battenburg lace trim around the collar, down the front opening and at the cuffs. No closures. Fully lined with black satin with a band of pink and gold lamé fabric woven in a geometric Art Deco pattern around the hem.
Condition: Excellent with a few small marks in the fabric of the velvet and shattering in the lining at the back neckline. Item was not cleaned due to its age.
1930's opera coat is made out of jet black silk velvet and has a ivory silk charmeuse lining that provides a stark contrast. Shawl collar is stitched in a diamond-shaped pattern, which creates texture and interest. Front and back shoulders are finely shirred and stitched down. Back side has gathers underneath the collar that release into fabric that forms a blouson at the back waist. Long, billowing sleeves gather at wrists. Single button closure at side waist. Fully lined.
Condition: Excellent- Lining was restored and replaced by a professional seamstress.
