Vintage cocktail dress from Maxwell Shieff Beverly Hills is made of black lace with gunmetal gray sequins sewn on to echo the pattern of the lace. Pleated black satin waistband. Back train has gray silk on underside that compliments the color of the sequins. Fitted throughout. Wide scoop neckline. Fully lined. Center back zipper.

Stunning gown and wrap from Beverly Hills designer Maxwell Shieff dates to the 1950's and is made of black and gold jacquard with a large-scale floral motif. Gown is fitted throughout outside of a fishtail hem. Dress is lined and has a center back zipper. Wide wrap could be worn a variety of ways.
Three piece outfit from Michael Novarese circa 1980s, is made of black silk with a windowpane weave, printed with a bold floral pattern in white, red, and yellow. Blouse has a mock neck, 7/8 length wide sleeves, padded shoulders and center back zipper. Pleated skirt is knee length with center back zipper and hook and eye closures at waistband. Hip length jacket has shawl lapel, 3/4 length sleeves, padded shoulders, patch pockets at hip and no closures. All pieces are lined.

Vintage dress from Michael Schmidt dates to the late 1980's and is made of metal O-rings that are hand-woven together, resulting in chainmail that hugs the body. V-neck front and back. Unlined. No closures. Please note that although no tag is present identifying the designer of the garment, this piece has been authenticated by the artist himself. He stated that less than eight of these dresses were ever made. This is a rare and collectible dress.

Mimi Di N belt or necklace circa 1974. Gold-toned discs of varying sizes are stamped and textured to represent sand dollars. Held together by chain links. Each disc is stamped "Mimi Di N 1974". Very versatile accessory.

About the designer-
Mimi di Niscemi was born in Palermo, Italy. She studied at the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Arts which allowed her to work part-time for a jewelry manufacturer who produced Schiaparelli jewelry. Her skill afforded her the opportunity to work with Dutch silversmith Rudolph Broom at the Wichita Art Association. She won a scholarship to the School of Applied Arts in Paris. In the 1950s she formed a partnership with Arnold Scaasi and produced pieces marked Jewels by Scaasi. In 1959 she joined Robert DeMario but soon moved to the New York bead house Brania where she made jewels marked Brania/Mimi di N. She opened her own jewelry firm in 1960 in New York City. She is still in business. and her pieces are marked Mimi di N.

Vintage sleeveless coat from Missoni dates to the 1970's and is made of a green double-faced wool. The exterior is a textured houndstooth pattern in green, white, and navy blue. Lining has same color palette, but in a striped pattern instead. Capelet is attached at neckline and extends to nearly elbow-length. Detached waist belt is the only closure.
