1940's floor-length dress with dramatic ruffled back and calico/geometric print. The entirety of the back skirt is covered with tiers of ruffles. Ruffled boat neckline. Fitted bodice. Short sleeves are gathered at cuff. A-line skirt with long ruffle at hem. Side metal zipper. Unlined.
Condition: Very Good. A few spots on the ruffles- one that is on the neckline and one that is on the back ruffles; they are easily concealed by being made into a tuck as there is so much volume in those areas. Small mend in the underarm just above the zipper. Small tear at shoulder seam concealed by ruffle- easily repaired. Small tear at side seam at bust. Crude repair at right underarm.
Vintage Chinese blouse is made of emerald green silk with bold polychromatic hand-embroidery that depicts dragons and birds. Frog closures at center front neck run diagonally down to right side. Unlined.

This classic sword brooch was made in the 1940's likely during when the Arabian Nights movie craze struck the American public. We are unsure of the plastic, but it is possibly lucite.
Condition: Very Good with light scratches in the plastic and a few cloudy rhinestones.
